About the Department

Biochemistry offers a challenging environment that nurtures the candidate's future. Curriculum is designed in such a way that would develop the knowledge and help them to work in any levels in Diagnostic Clinical Laboratories and in Pharma Companies.

The Department of Biochemistry is a vibrant and ambitious department with academic staff, Doctoral researchers and PG research students. The Department is very successful in the college and is firmly committed to excellence both in research and teaching. The department adopts an integrated approach embracing the view that tomorrow's break - through are likely to occur at the interface of traditional biological sub divisions. A degree in Biochemistry is the first step towards a wide variety of careers in the pharmaceutical and food industries, in the hospital service, and in may aspects of biological and medical research.

The Department Association named : BIOZENITH.
Our Department secured University rank every year, with a total of 8 ranks since from the year 2004.
25 scholars were awarded with Ph.D and M.Phil degrees through our Department, by Bharathiar University.
State level, National level and International level seminar were organized since 2004.
Our faculties have presented research papers at various scientific forums.
Mr.V.R.GOWRISHANKAR, out gone student of 2008 batch has been awarded with best NSS cadet.
Dr.S.Mohandass, Head has been awarded with Rs.9, 64,400 from UGC, NewDelhi under major research proposal (MRP).
Well established with lab for research.
Published 20 research articles at National and International peer reweived journals. Well placed alumni’s.
Miss.Kalpana of M.Sc was selected for her project work by Indian academy of science, Bangalore.
Mr.Sumanth of M.Sc presented his project work at Association of Indian Universities, Pune.
