About the Centre
The Centre for Indian Knowledge System & Value Education at Dr. N. G. P. Arts and Science College is established to promote traditional knowledge and foster a profound understanding of the vast and intellectual heritage rooted in Indian traditions. It aims to nurture a generation equipped with both ancient wisdom and modern knowledge, enabling them to think creatively to address individual and societal challenges through innovative and value-based approaches.
Objectives
- To promote the preservation, dissemination, and application of Indian Knowledge Systems across disciplines.
- To integrate Indian Knowledge Systems into curricular and pedagogical practices for holistic and multidisciplinary learning.
- To encourage research and innovation based on traditional knowledge for sustainable development.
- To inculcate ethical values and social responsibility through value-based education.
- To promote awareness and understanding of Indian Knowledge Systems through academic and extension initiatives

Roles & Responsibilities
- To promote the incorporation of Indian Knowledge Systems into curricular aspects for holistic development.
- To organize seminars, workshops, and Faculty Development Programs on IKS.
- To facilitate IKS based inter- and trans-disciplinary research.
- To establish collaborations with organizations working on IKS through MoUs.
- To conduct value-oriented programs and activities that foster ethical awareness, responsible citizenship, and personal integrity among students.
